In this memorable, playful and action-packed full day in Manchester Museum, children will encounter scientists such as Palaeontologists, Archaeologists and Biologists to discover the fascinating real-world applications of their studies in school.
The day will explore museum collections in popular KS2 (especially Year 3) topics, including:
- Rocks
- Fossils
- Pre-history
- Animals and Plants
Activities will range from testing and sorting rocks and discovering what dinosaurs can tell us about the past, to opportunities to ask their burning questions of a museum curator ... all while the Museum is closed to the general public!

What else do I need to know?
- Activities require a minimum of 4 supervising adults to be present for each class at all times, excluding 1:1 support. The types of activities we are able to offer are likely to change if enough adults are not present.
- We are happy for your adult supervision to include parent helpers but please note they will be supervising and facilitating a group of up to 9 pupils for short activities. Full instructions will be given and the class stays together at all times.
- We assume a departure time of 2.15pm onwards.
- Our minimum cancellation notice is usually 4 weeks.
- If cost is a barrier to your school, please get in touch as we may be able to help.
How do I book?
- Each booking is for one class of up to 35 pupils.
- Please choose a date and arrival time (9.45am, 10am or 10.15am) below to check availability.
- If there is availability, please follow the instructions to complete the booking.
- If you wish to book multiple dates, or multiple classes on the same date, please check the availability first for each selection and then add them separately to your basket before checking out.
- You will receive three emails containing your confirmations. Please check details of your booking carefully.
