Things to do before your visit

 Risk assessment and safety:

Our Museum Hazard ID document and General Site Risk Assessment are available to download for you to produce your own risk assessment for your visit. You are welcome to arrange book a site visit ahead of your school visit to carry out your risk assessment and we are happy to arrange for you to meet a member of the team to discuss this. Please email school.bookings@manchester.ac.uk to arrange this.

Please note that teachers (or other accompanying adults) remain responsible for the general health and safety of children, as at school. Teachers (or other adults) should remain with their primary and secondary
school groups at all times.

Preparing your class

Each class will be kept together all day but for the activities we will need to be divided into 4 equal (as possible) sub groups,
with one adult per sub group (note this excludes adults providing 1:1 support) to make sure we can run the day as efficiently as possible, please can this be done before your visit.

Pre visit Resources and Activities

To support your group to prepare for the Monday Takeover, we have produced a Teachers Pack and Pre-Visit PowerPoint including a trailer for the Golden Mummies exhibit and some activities made alongside the exhibition’s curator. We hope these help prepare your pupils for your day with us.
