90 minute workshop with half day self led gallery time.
Your visit includes:
- 90 minute facilitated workshop including object handling and time on Egypt & Sudan Gallery
- A set timetable to explore the galleries for the rest of your trip
- Coat and lunch storage
- A reserved 30 minute lunch slot in our basement lunch area
- Hazard and Risk Assessment documents
Ancient Egypt Workshop:
Using our ancient Egyptian collections this workshop will build on the Big Question: Which is the most important ancient Egyptian artefact in Manchester Museum?
Through interactive challenges, pupils will:
Observe, handle, and describe artefacts
Wonder about what the artefacts could have been
Explain what artefacts are by matching labels
Connect what makes something important to an artefact
This 90 minute workshop will include object handling and facilitated time on the Egypt & Sudan Gallery, led by a member of our learning team. As part of a full-day visit, you will also have time to explore the museum with your class as part of a self-led visit.
Ancient Egypt & Archaeology Workshop AM: Arrive 10.15am / Depart 2pm:
- Arrival for 10:15 and sign in at Front desk
- 10:30-12 Workshop: object handling and time on Egypt & Sudan Gallery
- 12-12:30 Lunch in Learning Basement
- 12:30- 13 Self guided time in Fossils Zone
- 13- 13:30 Self guided time in Living Worlds Gallery
- 13:30-14 Self guided time in Nature's Library Gallery and Vivarium
